Are you ready for an approximately 10-month European Solidarity Corps volunteering experience within Il Nodo Consorzio di Cooperative Sociali, an organisation working in the fields of migration and social solidarity in the enchanting city of Catania, Italy? Don't miss this unique opportunity in the shadow of Mount Etna — one that touches both people and the land! 📋 Project Details Activity Type: European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Volunteering Service Project Dates: 1 October 2026 – 30 July 2027 Location: Catania, Italy 🇮🇹 Participant Profile: We are looking for young people who are open to cultural diversity, inclined towards teamwork, and have high communication energy. Artistic skills, previous volunteering experience (scouting, civil service, aid organisations, etc.), and a background in humanities, social sciences, social economy, environmental studies, or agriculture are considered a plus. This year, practical training in social farming is particularly valued. Accommodation and Meals: Covered under the Erasmus+ / European Solidarity Corps programme. Travel Support: Covered under the Erasmus+ / European Solidarity Corps programme. 🤝 What Will You Do? In this volunteering service, you will work in reception facilities hosting unaccompanied foreign youth (aged 14–18) and adult migrants. These young people live in family-like apartments under the 24/7 educational supervision of a multidisciplinary team. You will be a point of reference and a guide for them throughout their integration process, working together to strengthen their entrepreneurial spirit, social solidarity, and self-confidence. In addition, volunteers will take part in activities such as maintaining the community garden within Il Nodo, working on land confiscated from organised crime and converted into olive groves, and participating in work in the forested area within the Etna Volcano Nature Park.
